I don’t hate instagram anymore

For more than 10 years I managed my music accounts on Instagram. And here’s full disclosure, I dreaded it.

There were so many expectations to show up in a certain way, so much that it was honestly, oh so boring. My feed also got more and more sterile. Content makers in my feed boast of authenticity, but it was yet another mask upon a mask, yet another buzz word.

BUT. Things changed this year 2022. I came across a creative, a businesswoman, a coach, a photographer Sara Tasker. Through her book Hashtag Authentic, my love for photography that slowly wore away since a decade ago, was rekindled. I started looking for the quiet moments in a day again. Then I realised she has this wonderful 8-week course, Instaretreat. Every cell in my body wanted to know what it was about. When you get to know someone, a maker, a creative, an author or an artist intimately through her work, you know their offering is beyond knowledge. It is heart.

The mindset coaching every Tuesday and application calls on Wednesdays made this course beyond textbook and trends. It is even beyond Instagram! The fierce kindness and love from coaches Sara as well as Sally Hardie overflows to everyone of us. We revisit why we are on Instagram, and find our respective voices in life as well as on the platform. There is beauty, love and excellence. The guidance and tips from Sara as well as her expert guest speakers are invaluable. Finding your voice, is the first step to being an authentic voice in your sphere, instagram or not. Talking about authenticity doesn’t make one authentic. It takes time, and the courage to figure it out. Sara and team are all about helping us discover that voice.

It is why I am so comfortable on instagram today. I look forward to sharing my thoughts, my dreams, my art and illustrations on it. I have fun on it, but don’t owe it an explanation. It is simply a stage available for me, whenever I see that it is a safe space to share.

If you are interested in finding out more about Instaretreat, or keen on signing up but still have questions, pls feel free to reach out to me on instagram @julietillustrates or send me a message via the contact form. I would love to share my experience openly with you. I know how it is to be on the other side, and would be happy to help in anyway.

If you wish to sign up to Instaretreat, you can click on this link. We can be class buddies! The best part is you have lifetime access to all the calls as well as course podcast and resources. I earn a little from this affliate link at no cost to you. It is simply how much I believe in Sara and her course. Thank you.
