Flattered by the number of times the TV programme, The Voice of China had invited me unto their programme just over the past 2 weeks, but I do realised I’ve treasured working creatively and organically with the softer, more intimate, more quiet, things, people, aspects of life.

Lots of things call out to us everyday. Lots of smarter things, or louder things – but what a privilege and wonderful thing to stop to something like this. When I saw the video that The Studio Loft sent me this week, I saw the lyrics of my simple song (“I Will Love You Well”) from my debut (2010) take on a deeper meaning from the eyes of a child.

This song was about boldness of childlikeness in an adult, and in contrast to the simplicity of the sounds of ukulele and xylophone, were rebellious lines that the child in us might say to the world. Love overcomes. An intimate family film of parenthood, simple moments captured from the perspective of another, it brought a smile to my face on a regular weekday afternoon.

Congrats to the proud parents of baby Jaime, and bienvenue little one!
