In just 2 days’ time, Singapore celebrates her independence for the 50th time. We have just returned from Perth, Australia before we head off again for another stint in China.

Everywhere in malls we hear the songs we grew up with, games, and promotions celebrating the great Jubilee. But I’m old-fashioned, with our PM Lee passing away just a few months ago, it is hard not to imagine how he would have celebrated it if he lived to see this day. There is a time for everything, for mourning and for dance. In that order. And so here it is.

It is wonderful to see solidarity in the midst of both. And with this little video dedication, I would like to wish Singapore a wonderful 50th birthday celebration. To the next 50! Majulah Singapura!

A humble little video I’ve made of our live performance of my original ‘Hey You’ at SingJazz Club performed just 3 days after he had passed on.
