We can’t wait to share with you all that wonderful stuff we have been brewing for this upcoming tour, starting with our first stop in Perth! Black Cat Lounge was borne out of a vision with creative arts and community, and we are so excited and privileged to be a part of it. ‘Four & More!’ taken after Miles Davis 1964 album will of course feature the song ‘Four’, really Eddie Vinson’s (a saxophonist/composer) composition, with Miles’ and Red Garlands’ famous solos. Later Jon Hendricks penned vocalese lyrics to these magnificent solos and recorded it with Lambert, Hendricks and Ross. Apart from ‘Four’, our more will consist of songs from Charlie Parker, Clifford Brown, Gershwin, Jobim as well as one or 2 of my own original compositions. We also have a bit of a special item on the second set, stay tuned! x
Sappho Live Jazz (Taipei): Tickets at Door | RSVP/Share
Our stop at Taipei, will have the above goodness, but a little + on the More! Most of you who have been following my later work would know my love for playful phrasings as well as my heart for sharing this wonderful goodness across cultures and languages. I’ve been putting a couple of my favourite Bird tunes up for some lyric-dressing. Just because, it’s fun! We hope our Taiwanese friends at Sappho Live Jazz would dig it too!
Cathedral Cafe (Singapore): FREE Entry | RSVP/Share
Our final stop in Singapore, is no less special for us. Although kept at an hour long, it would really be the one featuring the love songs i’d written out of my walk with God. It will also be the revisit to that Daniel, Didi and Juliet combination. Expect the unexpected! Be treated also to the innovative and creative finger-style solo guitar playing of Daniel Purnomo, our long-time good friend. Inspired from our 2013 Easter’s performance at 7KickStart Cafe, we will also be playing gospel hymn classics. An hour of easy music and food for the spirit. We can’t wait!
