In view of our upcoming OOOM Music Festival 2012 participation, we connected with Radio Heatwave and was warmly welcomed by a very young and very talented crew! I’d thought i’d just put up some pictures of the interview but these guys are really something. So i thought i’d share a lil more than just images. :)
They say a picture say a thousand words. I agree. But may i just add that it’s a 1000 words and more? :)
So look out, Singapore! Out of their own dedication for music and communications, these ‘kids’ give their time freely to their passion. What’s inspiring is, after attending so many major radio stations from Mediacorp and SPH, and then going back to good ol’ school, made me realise how important the beginnings are.
Despite a lack of luxurious equipment that commercial stations may easily possess, they come up with interesting ways (apart from social media!?!) to reach out to their listeners, and nothing deters them from doing a job and enjoying it.

For me the most moving moment for me was when DJ Debbie said, Gosh we have to play more music like this – jazz! if you listen to any radio stations at all, you know to catch jazz on radio in Singapore, is a pretty much an extravagance.
We can only explore, and learn and perhaps innovate in time with all the favour and blessings that we can get. And to be warmly received by the listeners and our lovely crew, and counted as one of you (in the music scene – as my good friend Jo says, on sunny island Singapore) is truly a privilege.
We look forward to seeing you all at OOOM Music Festival @ National Libray (Atrium) at 9pm this Saturday!
